High Mountain Roofing Services
Experience, Integrity, Quality
I have roofed hundreds upon hundreds of homes myself. There are so many, I can’t count them–including composition roofs, wood shakes, wood shingles, metal, tile, sidewalls, flat roofs, hot tar, Epdm and Pvc. That’s real experience, and that doesn’t include my employees’ wisdom and knowledge, which has always augmented mine.
I got my Journeyman Shingler’s card around 1979-1980, right out of high school. Around 1981-1982, I received a State Of Nevada 3rd Class Boiler’s License. I earned my Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker’s union card around 1985. I have also worked as an engineer for a portion of my life. I still enjoy getting on the roof from time to time. I personally walk each roof upon completion of the job.
Roofing is in my blood, from my grandfather, my father, my brother to me. You’ll often see my younger brother and my nephews up on the roof. Heck, you may even see my wife up there, and she’s the hardest worker among us!
The world has changed over the last 40 years that I have been in the roofing industry. To be honest, I am not thrilled about the way things are going today. I don’t Tweet, or Facebook. I love my privacy. I am a big supporter of individual rights. I am old school–good or bad, that’s who I am. I miss the old days, when the word airbag meant your mother-in-law. Ha, ha, just kidding. I like old cars like GTO’s, Road Runners, Chargers, Mustangs, Camaro’s–you get the picture, the innocent years of the past.
I thank GOD for my customers and I am humbled that most are referrals. In my world, a handshake is often good enough. That’s called trust, like the good old days.
But times are changing. Even a dummy like me can see that print media is going by the wayside, unfortunately; and the Internet appears to be here to stay. I still like the feel of the book in my hands; it doesn’t lie to me–it is what it is!
I have always tried to be the best at what I do. I am not the best salesman because I am not very pushy. And I may not be the best roofer out there; but, I’m right there with them. However, I am the most caring. That’s why our name has “Service” in it. Because I mean it. It’s not the catch phrase of the day.
I started this business due to the shenanigans I have personally witnessed while working for other roofing companies, and watching my fellow compatriots who were not the most honest, who hired very few American workers, who would rather give American jobs away to cheap, inexperienced laborers to increase personal profits.
From my perspective, those owners did not care about your long term investment; they only cared about their bottom line, and they were not willing to pay a worker what a roofer is worth, and that’s a lot! It’s damn hard work up on a hot, steep or icy roof! Excuse my french, but it’s the truth.
Companies become corporations to hide behind the corporate veil if something goes wrong. Not here. My word and my integrity are worth a lot. We are a Sole Proprietorship, thus my life is in my customer’s hands. I am not afraid to stick my neck out because I really care about our customers and that’s no bull.
You know about the taillight warranty? The moment you can no longer see the taillights of their company vehicle, the warranty has expired. You won’t know if your roof was done right until the first heavy rain, and/or snowstorm. And it can take a few years to test this, too.
I am not saying that we are the only good roofing company out there, we’re not! There are some good companies out there. Do your homework!
But, what sets us apart is:
Our customer service
Our experience
Our knowledge and
Our integrity.
That’s not Pharfannuggen.
Other companies will say anything to get the job. I would rather go out of business than lie about who I am, or what we have done. After being in business 26 years, there have been very few complaints, and almost all have been minor. I personally walk every roof upon its completion to ensure that the roof is done to my standards, which are very, very, high. Ask my employees. I am fair with them, but will not accept any less from them.
I am not saying that we are perfect, not by any means. There is only one LORD/GOD who is perfect. But, in His name, we do our very best work.
One thing is for sure, the Internet is not what it used to be. Anybody can say anything about anyone and it becomes the gospel truth. That’s why we all have discernment; use it. Please check our YELP reviews and be sure to go to page two there. You are going to have to follow your heart. That will usually do the trick.
Respectfully,
David W. Bickell
